I dined in and asked two of the staff (older and younger male) about the grilled pork balls. I asked if they were gluten-free (as I am celiac) and they replied “yes”. Then when I asked to confirm that there was no wheat flour or soy sauce they replied with “I don’t know”.
I don’t understand how a restaurant would not know about the ingredients in the food they are serving. If the item is made in-house, they should know what the chefs are doing and if it isn’t, there should be an ingredient list to check.
I don’t expect restaurants to be able to cater to all dietary restrictions but it seemed clear that there was an insufficient understanding of what ingredients their food is even made of.
