Kitt's Kornbread Sandwich and Pie Bar

Gluten free items! Excellent food overall including our sons gluten free cornbread sandwich and the pies. If you're looking to eat in Jefferson, this is a great place. Be ready for a wait ranging from a few minutes to an hour depending on the time. Staff are working their tails off.

For those who need Gluten Free, this is our experience. We ate at Kitt’s for lunch 3 days in a row and my hubby never got sick! I reached out ahead of time to the owner through their contact link to ask if they use rice flour in their gluten free cornbread. In addition to no gluten, my hubby cannot tolerate rice. She replied the next day and said they do not! She said to ask for her when we came in and she’d try to have some other recommendations for us as well. Her staff was expecting us and she visited with us and said she is GF, as well as dairy and egg free, so no stranger to allergies. My hubby was able to enjoy a burger one day, a cornbread chili and cheese sandwich the next day, and wanted the burger again the third day. I had a strawberry salad with poppyseed dressing that was excellent. All of their dressings are gluten free. Make sure you’re there when they open. The tables all fill up within 5 minutes if it’s a busy day. They’re open from 1130 to 3 but only on certain days of the week, so check ahead of time. For dessert they did have the GF brownie and a GF peanut butter pie, but unfortunately for my hubby they both contained rice flour. They offered to make him ice cream topped with whatever he wanted, but we were so full we didn’t have room for dessert. I sure got pie to go though! Highly recommend Kitt’s! She and her waitstaff are amazing!
