Not our first visit to Lure, but maybe our last?
Being hotel guests at the Delta, we decided to stay in for the evening and dine at Lure, the on-site restaurant.
The views of the harbour are the best feature of this restuarant as the food and service definetly are not to rave about.
We were interested in the Jalapeno Corn Chowder and asked about the ingredients. On the menu is has the "V" and "GF" indicating it is vegan and gluten free, so I asked about the cilantro crema that it lists. The server seemed confused when I asked about the crema, and so made up a fact that it has dairy in it.
Upon being served we noticed that the cilantro crema is a simple drizzled garnish floating on the soup, and contains no dairy.
The soup was tepid, not hot and very bland and watery, not rich and flavourful as you would expect a chowder to be. There was no sign of jalapenos in it.
The server did not come back to check on how everything was until the meal was consumed, and then promptly brought the cheque and credit card machine without asking if we wanted anything else.
It wasn't busy in the restaurant, there were only 2 other tables of guests, and 2 servers plus a host, so it wasn't like they were too busy to take care of us.
I would not recommend this restaurant and don't plan to go back.
