La Casita del Marisco is a delightful gem tucked away in Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica. This quaint seafood spot is beloved by locals and for good reason. The seafood platters and catch of the day grilled to perfection are simply divine—fresh and bursting with flavor. The menu may not be the most descriptive, but the staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, ready to answer any questions. Just be mindful if you have a gluten allergy, as they use a shared fryer. We started with the avocado shrimp boats, which were a delicious introduction to our meal. For the main course, the seafood platter stole the show with its generous servings of crab, mussels, shrimp, squid, and octopus—all expertly sauteed with fresh vegetables. The rice dish with calamari was also delightful, although the rice itself had a slightly unusual flavor that didn't quite match the excellence of the seafood. Parking can be tricky, especially during peak times, so it's wise to arrange transportation if you're staying nearby. The restaurant offers ample space to enjoy the breathtaking sunset views. While they don't have a formal drink menu, the full bar serves up refreshing Imperial beer to complement your meal perfectly. Overall, La Casita del Marisco is a must-visit for seafood enthusiasts seeking a true taste of Costa Rica's coastal flavors. The ambiance, service, and most importantly, the food, make it a four-star dining experience in Playa Hermosa.

All I can say wow. As a pesce paleo (gluten free and dairy free), I’m beyond impressed by the quality of food at this establishment. A MUST VISIT if you are in the area. Right on the beach, and very casual, you can pick a bottle of wine or have your drink of choice (they all look delicious) and sit at your table. The menu is entirely seafood which was a dream come true for me. Freshly caught and served, my grilled red snapped must have been caught earlier that day. We also ordered the tuna sashimi appetizer and my boyfriend got the Blackend Mahi. We give all good a 10/10. I could eat here every day for the rest of my life.
