La Mer

Most exceptional service we’ve had in years. It’s very expensive, and while the food is good, when you come to La Mer, it’s clear that you’re really paying the outstanding service and atmosphere. We had 3 attentive and friendly people waiting on us while we dined at a table overlooking the ocean. The manager came by to welcome us and congratulate us on our honeymoon. We opted to order a la carte in lieu of either tasting menu. They already noted that I was gluten free on the reservation and the chef was prepared. They gave me my own GF bread and separate butter. We had the scallops, the duck, and the filet. They were all very tasty and the presentation was beautiful, though the duck and filet were a bit chewy. Not the most outstanding of either dish I’ve eaten, but certainly enjoyable. They also gave us free GF dessert for our honeymoon and they provide each guest with their own box of chocolate covered macadamia nuts rolled in pop rocks. We were so impressed with the service that I found the manager as we were leaving to let him know.

The food and service at La Mer was nothing short of amazing. Each course had a level of depth and flavor unmatched anywhere else on Oahu. They accommodated my gluten free diet as well as my fiancée’s vegan diet and still made everything perfect. Thank you to the staff and manager who served and greeted us, Steve, Atila, Scott, and Nick.
