I have been to La Paloma a thousand times and I have seen the progressive decline of this legendary vermouth and gabardine prawn bar in Oviedo. I loved it because of its atmosphere, and the food is delicious. Now it is always crowded and the treatment of the staff is disastrous. A few months ago I went and ordered a gluten-free prawn a la gabardine, I had ordered it before and it was always good. That day was laughable, or rather sad, there was neither shrimp nor raincoat... I told the waitress and she told me that they were like that... I didn't want it and then the cook came out, and very kindly he brought me another one but neither It was fine. I recently returned, and there was no room for anything. At the beginning there was only one waiter who couldn't have been more angry, stating in a loud tone that he was alone. I spent 15'-20' on one side of the bar waiting to be served and no one looked at me or addressed me. The lady next to me couldn't believe it and started complaining. He told the waiter to please serve me because he had been there for a long time... it didn't sit well with the waiter and he yelled at us... Only the customers who were arriving were poorly served, only those on one side of the bar, they arrived and without noticing If there were people waiting, they would order and throw the drink to them, at least they would throw it to them... they didn't even look at me... Three days later I returned, and saw the same operation. So I decided to imitate those who were luckier than me, if they were cared for. I had the audacity to ask the owner of the establishment for a drink, the blonde lady, with medium hair, tall and glasses, very polite, I said: “Hello, could you please serve me now?” At that moment, it is as if time had stopped, she looked at me and in front of everyone she began to shout at me with inadmissible rudeness: “QUIET HEY, QUIET, I serve in order and there are people who arrived before you, who I have it under control, so calm down..." I froze, and I replied with "I'm calm, so calm down, I don't think these are ways to talk to a client, no matter how much I think you're right." The conversation continued... and the Summary is his bad education and my bad body after the screams… Perhaps that day, I was hasty when ordering (not too much) because I could see how others arrived after me and with that art of knowing how to order quickly they were served before. But I had had a very bad experience days before... in any case, I didn't see it as even half normal, I was left with a very bad body. These are really not ways to talk to a customer, or anyone… I have seen other reviews and they speak very badly of the waiters. The waiters are super stressed, there are too many people and not enough staff... what is not acceptable is the treatment of the owner, I received mistreatment from her... it is a shame but I will not return.
