La Parma II Italian Restaurant

They have fantastic food. And for those who are gluten free, they have a fantastic offering.

I tried to write La Parma separately but cannot locate an email address. I've been going to La Parma since back in the 80's and if there is one thing I can say, the food is consistently delicious. My disappointment today was that they did not allow me to buy a single order of calamari on Mother's Day. There were only 2 of us and my daughter is gluten free so I was not about to order myself a huge platter of calamari. For the shrimp La Parma, we wanted to get 1/2 order of regular pasta and 1/2 order of gluten free pasta but the waitress shut that right down. She didn't even go in the back to check to see if it was possible so we had to order it with gluten free pasta which I do not eat... The place was not overly crowded this early on Mother's Day so I was extremely disappointed that they could not accommodate as they have in the past. If the waitress had at least tried to check with the kitchen I think we would've felt a little better about it. Her coldness left us with a lousy feeling. The food was delicious as always and for that I would give FIVE stars, but I wasn't able to fully enjoy my Mother's Day meal as I was dunking bread into the shrimp dish since I do not eat gluten free pasta.... I didn't want to make a big deal out of it. I did talk to people behind the bar explaining that they should have mentioned this when we were making a reservation and we were told they are supposed to. Looked forward to that meal all week :(
