We really enjoyed the experience.
It's located in the center of La Laguna, on a very pretty pedestrian street with a small square in front. The place is tastefully decorated, with high wooden ceilings and very high windows overlooking the square.
Miguel and his colleague were extremely attentive, always very friendly.
And the menu is 100% gluten-free, therefore free of cross-contamination and suitable for celiacs.
Everything we ordered was delicious: the tuna croquettes (made with stewed fresh tuna) were very tasty, creamy, and with a crispy coating.
The salad was also delicious, with mesclun lettuce and super crunchy chicken.
The lizard was very well-cooked with a grilled flavor, and the potatoes with apple and a touch of rosemary were very original and delicious.
And the homemade desserts... so many you won't know which one to choose.
I opted for the Uruguayan polvito, which I'd never tried before and is typical of the Canary Islands. It was delicious and very well-balanced.
Given the ingredients, it might seem like it's going to be too sweet (and apparently it usually is), but Miguel, who's in charge of desserts, has toned down the sweetness to make it perfect. For those unfamiliar with it, it has a biscuit base, dulce de leche, cream, and meringue. Im-pressive.
We ordered:
crispy chicken salad
tuna croquettes
Iberian lizard with French fries and apple sautéed with rosemary
Uruguayan polvito
We'll definitely try to go back before we leave Tenerife. A ten!
