The "La Tonnarella" restaurant located on the beach of Conca dei Marini on the Amalfi Coast was a total disappointment despite the food being of good quality. The service was extremely poor and completely ruined the experience.
Initially, my girlfriend, being celiac, had asked for gluten-free spaghetti with clams but she was brought some penne with clams without having pointed out the unavailability of the spaghetti. An unacceptable mistake especially for a local person. When I pointed out the mistake, the waitress tried to fix it by offering me a penne with sauce, a decidedly inadequate proposal. After a series of mix-ups due to the total disorganization of the staff, in the end the spaghetti turned out.
As if that wasn't enough, the waiter tried to apologize by promising a free dessert to make up for the disservice, but this famous "dessert" never arrived. What made the situation even worse were the prices, which were decidedly exaggerated for the service received.
In conclusion, the "La Tonnarella" restaurant turned out to be a bitter experience, where good food was completely overshadowed by terrible service and inadequate management.
