Laudy Bar - Craft Kitchen & Cocktails

Laudy Bar didn’t live up to the hype. Less than half of the tables were in use, but service was very slow because it was understaffed, with one server for the entire restaurant. Our server didn’t want to take our meal order at the same time as appetizers, so we had to wait even longer. We ordered the lamb lollipops appetizer, medium rare. It came out cooked to death, and a much smaller portion than other reviewers have described. 3 thin-cut lollipops for $29 is not great. The flavor was good, though. The cocktail menu is focused on vodka martinis. They do make an excellent old fashioned- I had the smoked old fashioned and my companion had a traditional. The presentation was excellent, with a single cube and fine cherries. One of the main reasons we chose Laudy Bar is because the menu clearly labels gluten free options. My companion ordered scallops, an entree that the menu stated could be made gluten free. It came out covered in breadcrumbs and apparently the kitchen staff gave the server attitude about sending it back. Once we got the gluten free version, it was actually very good. The portion of scallops was generous and they were cooked perfectly. I ordered blackened snapper, and it was also perfect. This place has potential, but needs to work on service and consistency.
