Friendly service in a beautiful setting, but unfortunately, many of the staff I encountered had no knowledge of food allergens, which I find quite worrying for restaurant employees. Although I specifically stated when booking that I could not eat gluten, they tried to offer me an amuse-bouche on gluten-containing bread, panko-coated fish (and, when asked directly, they replied that panko was made from rice - WRONG) and then a Grand Marnier soufflé. Luckily, as a cook, I am familiar with all these ingredients and allergens. For others, this could have caused discomfort or an allergic reaction.
