Level a Small Plates Lounge

Level was amazing. Eventhough they appeared to be a bit short staffed, we sat at the bar and had zero issues. Everyone worked effortlessly to make sure our experience was enjoyable. We are gluten free and had tons of options. We will definitely visit again when we come back to Annapolis! Thank you!!

Cool vibes, but the food was a little hit or miss and the servers were overwhelmed. For the prices, both should be better. And I want to add the caveat that we went on a particularly busy time - graduation day for St. John's. Since it's a small plates place, we got a *lot* of different things. I had the salmon poke bowl and liked it, my son had the short rib and liked it, but we also got fried softshell crab that was slimy, brussel sprouts that were kind of soggy, and the flourless brownie gave cake vibes rather than brownie vibes, didn't taste strongly of chocolate, and wasn't sweet enough to be a fun desert. It tasted like a desert you'd get at fat camp. The charcuterie board looked pretty good. And my desert was really good but I can't remember what it was - some kind of fruit crumble or something? Noise was also an issue - nobody could hear anyone across the table from them. It would change the vibe, but adding some wall tapestries or something else sound absorbent would be a big upgrade. The noise also meant we ended up with a mix-up on our desert order, as the server confirmed that I was getting bread pudding rather than the fruit-whatever I eventually got and enjoyed and we didn't realize it until the bread pudding showed up. Since I'm a Celiac, the bread pudding was definitely a no go (and I was a little worried that I'd mentioned my food sensitivity and our server hadn't seen a problem with bread pudding) I don't like leaving a negative review, but this was a pretty expensive meal for an important celebration, and it fell short. And enough of our plates were disappointing that I feel like just being busy or having a bad night can't explain it away.

My niece and nephew secured the first floor of this exquisite venue for my brother and sister-in-law's surprise 40th-anniversary celebration on June 1st. The catering was exceptional, featuring delectable hamburger and chicken sliders, vegetable egg rolls with a spicy honey glaze, shrimp dip, and outstanding gluten-free brownies. The service was exemplary, with attentive and friendly staff who catered to all guests, particularly our senior attendees. The bartenders were equally professional and skilled. The event far exceeded our expectations; it deserves a rating of ten 🌟, though the maximum allowed is five.
