We had a wonderful dinner experience at Leña. The ambiance is warm and cozy, with a hint of woodsy scent in the air from the wood-burning oven in the kitchen. The location is tucked away in a quickly growing area of new development in Detroit, and the validated garage parking is a nice touch. The food was phenomenal, and the service was very friendly and professional. Our party of 6 went family style and tried a little bit of everything! My recommendations... The pintxos: romanesco, brochetas (lamb skewers), bacalao (salted cod), cangrejo (crab-stuffed pepper) Entradas: hongos (mushrooms), calamares Principales: hipogloso (halibut), bife (steak) Postres: dark chocolate sorbet Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The portions were perfect for sharing and experiencing a good variety. Also, they are very accommodating of vegan and gluten free diets, and their lamb and beef are halal. We had an awesome evening at Leña and it's definitely on my list of top favorite restaurants in the city!!

This bright sunny corner restaurant in Brush Park checks all the boxes. Leña (pronounced with Spanish flair) is a great new neighborhood establishment with friendly staff and great food. Upon entering the style is very minimalistic, for a Spanish inspired setup I was expecting more historic cultural ambiance. However, don't let the lack of culture and style keep you away. The hostess was very friendly when I arrived, and she said "the seater" will be right with you....so formal. I found a seat at the bar, which has bar stools as well as more relaxed couch seats. Nolan was the first bartender to introduce himself, he was very knowledgeable and explained the entire menu and answered all my questions. There are plenty of small bites to share, two per plate, great selection of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. They even ask if you have any allergies or dietary requests. The menu is heavily Spanish inspired from the region of Catalan, with plenty of sea food options.
