This is a place of utmost professionalism and friendliness. Every member of staff we met was warm and courteous, couldn’t do enough to help you, and just genuinely seemed happy in where they were and what they were doing. It made a massive difference to our comfort and relaxation.
Leanne greeted us and booked us in, gave us our robes & slippers and rundown of everything. We had brought our own flip-flops, but we could’ve upgraded our footwear to flip-flops which I would definitely do next time.
Our room was really lovely, the arrangement of the beds in the twin rooms means you have quite a generous space in the centre of the room which was lovely, the bathroom was really nice and the complimentary toiletries provided smelt beautiful.
The food in the restaurant across our stay was delicious, I am coeliac so always worry, but there were plenty of options for me.
Eve served us on our first day and Harley on our second, they were both brilliant and particularly Harley’s knowledge of the gluten free diet was great.
At breakfast I was particularly appreciative of a separate toaster for gluten-free bread. Whilst the sausages on the hot plates weren’t gluten-free, the veggie sausages were, so I really felt like I was fully catered for.
I need to name each of the therapists whom I was lucky enough to receive treatments from this weekend as they were absolutely incredible.
Having started off with the 20 minutes of the complementary wave machine that was part of our package (of which I had no idea what to expect, but was absolutely incredible) I was then given a phenomenal 70 minute Hot Stone Massage by Swayde.
The second of the pre-book treatments that I chose was on Sunday morning, it was another 70 minutes, this time a Rose Quartz Facial which Olivia delivered. I’ve never had anything like this before and it was really fantastic and I would definitely have it again.
On the strength of how amazing our treatments were, my friend had equally amazing experiences with her therapist’s, we decided to go all out and book another each.
Angel assisted us in booking these, she was great at helping us choose what to have and scheduling them in for us.
The spa was also running an offer on a Clarins leg & foot exfoliate & massage which we both had, that was from Lucy and was absolutely heaven sent. It’s really made me reevaluate what I should be doing to look after myself and my skin, and the products she recommended are amazing.
Lastly, and the absolute jewel in the crown for me was a scalp massage from Cheryl. There are not enough words in my vocabulary to express how deeply relaxing and incredible this was! Next time I come back I will most definitely be requesting her for the same treatment again, it was exceptional.
Before coming I saw reviews that commented on the thermal spa facilities, they were a little busy on the Saturday so we chose to enjoy a walk around the beautiful grounds instead, but we enjoyed them after dinner at 9 pm when they were a little quieter. I thought they were lovely and relaxing. I particularly enjoyed the Jacuzzi, and the salt inhalation room.
On the second day we woke quite early because we are used to being up at crazy o’clock, so we decided to make the most of our day and head down to the thermal spa early. We got there just after 6:30am and swam, again enjoyed the jacuzzi and steam rooms and definitely worked up an appetite for breakfast!
The changing rooms do look a little tired and there were quite a few empty holders where products should be, however given that we were staying, we just showered off and then headed up to our room.
Overall the stay exceeded my high expectations and I’ve woken up after my first night back in my own bed still full of the feeling of bliss that they instilled in me.
Thank you so much to everyone at Lifehouse, including Oliver who did our check out on departure, for making it such a wonderful experience (& on a bank holiday weekend too), we are already saving to come back again next year!
