I was so disappointed. It took me some researching to find a restaurant that has gluten free pizza options while visiting due to my recent diagnosis. After being seated, the waitress came over. I specifically asked her if they had a gluten free menu or should I just order from the one I’d received and tell her gluten free version. She said to just tell her, so that’s what I did. The order comes out and we begin to eat. As I am eating I am observing the really close similarities between my order and my best friend’s… and then there’s the taste. So when the waitress comes back I tell her, “this is really good. Are you sure this is gluten free?” She makes a look and says she’ll check… WHAT?!? So, she takes the whole pizza and leaves. Comes back apologizing… my anger built so quickly, tears just starts falling because now I will go through several days of abdominal pain and hives on my body. The manager comes to express is apologies and how she is new. They take allergies seriously and will talk with her. He comps the meal and said when we come back the meal is free…
Thanks manager, but I won’t be back. Being new is not an excuse when I expressed the need for gluten free more than once. All she had to do was repeat it. She did not take it serious at all!
So reader, please double check that your order is correct before you eat if you have celiac disease or an allergy.
Sincerely,
