I have never had a harder time checking on my food allergies as I did tonight. I spoke to the manager on the phone regarding my severe allergies- she was obviously annoyed and was sighing on the phone as I asked about ingredients. I inquired about gluten-free pasta with meat sauce. When asked about the g-free pasta she responded, "It's made with the same ingredients as the ones in the store." I am unsure if she knew how many ingredients you can use to make pasta (lentils, corn, rice, chickpeas, peas, etc), so this answer was way too vague for somebody with severe allergies. I asked if she could clarify at which point she said, "I don't think the boxes say anything on them." She sighed and went to check. When asked if she checked on the meat sauce as well, she sighed again and put me on hold and came back a moment later with, "It's like the sauce you buy at the store. We don't add anything to it." At this point I was exasperated and annoyed at her clear reluctance to check ingredients and the vague answers she returned with, so I thanked her for her help and hung up. I wouldn't eat here with severe food allergies given the poor communication, vague answers, and annoyance/reluctance of checking ingredients.
