Amazing little restaurant for a traditional Portuguese meal. The restaurant is tucked away, but is extremely popular. We got there for 7 and all the tables were already full (seemed people had been queueing prior to open). We were lucky that we didn’t have to wait too long for a table, maybe 15 minutes, but as the evening went on a huge queue started to form. But it is definitely worth the wait! I have coeliac disease, so the waitress went through what was gluten free, which was quite a bit of the menu. We had the shrimps to start, and then shared the sardines and the traditional bacalhau a bras. All the food was amazing and the atmospheres and feel to the place was very cozy. Definitely worth a visit.

Walked by this charming place on an evening walk through Alfama and saw 10 tiny tables and a line of people waiting on the cobblestone for their turn to be seated. We weren't able to get a seat that night so returned early the next day and got a table right away (they don't take reservations and are only open 7-10pm for dinner). The menu was labeled with GF (gluten free) items, and mostly everything was gluten free. They had dined of seafood options and it was absolutely delicious. The waitress is a whole experience herself and made SURE to double check that the items we chose were GF, as well as informed the kitchen staff. For an large octopus starter, two mains, dessert and 3 drinks, we paid 53€ ! Favorite dinner we had in Lisbon and can't recommend it enough. You must go here if you're in Lisbon. It's worth the wait.
