I ordered two gluten-free treats to bring to a friend's for breakfast, the Cherry Almond Scone and a Morning Glory Muffin. This was my first visit to Little Red Hen Bakery. The scone was perfect, with bits of soft cherry in crispy bites and a finish of rock sugar for sweetness. The muffin had a heavy flavor I couldn't quite place, almost like a rye flour. I think I expected more of a carrot cake like moistness and sweetness, rather than a predominantly savory tone.
I will definitely return there on subsequent trips to Salida.
