I had an incredible dining experience at Dear Sushi inside Love, Makoto. The sushi and sashimi were absolutely top-tier—fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The wagyu hot stone steak was another highlight: incredibly tender, cooked to perfection, and served in a way that added a fun interactive element to the meal. I also appreciated that they offered gluten-free friendly options, which made the experience even more enjoyable and inclusive. The ambiance is sleek and modern, matching the high-end dining experience. Expect to spend over $100 per person, but the quality of the food and overall experience make it well worth the splurge. Highly recommend for a special night out or for any sushi lover in DC.

We went in to Dear Sushi during lunch for our anniversary and the experience exceeded our expectations. We tried the omakase express and the yuzu hamachi was delicious. They explained each piece and gave us instructions in what order to eat them. My partner has a gluten intolerance and they accommodated to it with gluten free sushi, tamari instead of soy sauce, and plum soup instead of miso. I do recommend letting them know of your gluten intolerance because the menu said the seaweed salad was gf but the waiter let us know that was incorrect/typo. At the end of our visit they brought us the dessert with a sweet anniversary note. Lovely attention to detail
