Well, we used to "save" Luciano's for special occasions, but, no longer will that happen, l am done. I fully understand that going out to eat is going to cost, and if you complain about cost l guess you just shouldnt go out. But this isnt about cost as much as it is about value. I will just describe the scenario and let the general public decide. Wife is gluten free so l know there is an upcharge. She ordered pasta and an Italian sausage. There was maybe a cup of pasta, gluten free...$18. Italian sausage, $5.50. She got about a handful of salad. Looking at the menu and ordering, seeing the prices (we didnt know how much an Italian sausage was, dont think it was listed) trust me, money isnt the issue. But at nearly $24 for a small plate of pasta, one sausage and a very small salad to me, was no more than $3 worth of food. I had salmon, which was good, kudos, but maybe a dozen green beans and a small cup of soup, $25. Buyer beware, if you order fish, even though the menu does say, soup AND salad, you only get one.....2 drinks each, beers and small fills of wine, tax, tip....$90! I estimate the total cost of the food to be approximately $10, l know, l shop and chef.
Took 35 minutes after we were seated to get our first drinks and another 20 minutes after our bill was given to have it processed, wayyyy too long of waits! In hindsight, l should have walked out at the 30 minute mark when we still didnt have our drinks.
Money isnt the issue, we can go anywhere at any price, for dinner. To me, as well as to my wife, the latest, and sadly the last visit at Luciano's was nowhere near worth it.
