Lucullus Taverna

We came across this restaurant while wandering through the streets of the center of Naxon. We were won over by the setting (under a romantic pergola) but even more so by their way of welcoming us: humble, non-invasive and attentive throughout the dinner. Pervaded by curiosity, we asked to taste their typical kefalotiri cheese, which we thought was really delicious. When choosing the wine however, they served us a tasting glass which then convinced us. We ordered 2 starters (potato with Naxos gruyère and jam from a local producer, baked feta with prawns) and a second course (rabbit stew with potato "purée"). All dishes were balanced and delicious. The wine we ordered (1/2 liter of house Greek white) was also on par with the food. We paid €37.50 but given the portions, the kindness and the quality of the food it seemed really little. I also specify that, being celiac, I received particular attention in choosing gluten-free dishes. At the end of the dinner the Italian chef (Gianluca) came to greet us and while exchanging 2 chats he also presented us with 2 glasses of grappa made by him. Go there!

Delicious food, really high quality stuff. Service was friendly and they had lots of marked gluten free options as well!
