We’re currently on a weekend getaway to Michigan. Both my wife and son have Celiac’s disease, which means they become extremely ill if they consume gluten. This morning, we visited Luisa’s and were delighted with the gluten-free buckwheat pancakes we had. We even ordered an extra serving to take back for our son. However, what we received for take away was notably different from our dine-in experience. Despite multiple confirmations, we were given buttermilk pancakes in the dining room. Additionally, despite our request for separate packaging for gluten-containing and gluten-free baked goods these were mixed together. As a result, my wife has been vomiting for the last several hours. Our vacation has been overshadowed by this. If you’re gluten-sensitive or have Celiac’s, please exercise caution when dining here.
