MAdness Of MAsala - Authentic Indian Cuisine

Authentic regional South Indian food. Our server was kind and worked to address our dietary needs (gluten-free and vegetarian). Atmosphere is bare bones. I can't wait to go back simply for the fresh and tasty food. Everything we tried was excellent: ghee karam idli, Nellore dosa, methi paneer, and the gongura paneer veg biryani. I just wish the Hindu patrons did not have to fund halal certification of the restaurant (proudly labeled on each menu page including vegetarian listings!), especially considering the owner(s) are Hindu themselves. Halal funds Islamic exclusive economy--Indian restaurants likely pay for halal certification so they can cater to their Muslim patrons too who would not eat there otherwise, thus proving the exclusive nature of halal economy. Unfortunately, what's good for single business in the short term may not be good for the society at large, when the only option will be halal (or kosher?) option.
