MEZBAAN MAHAL

We were looking for dinner late-ish on a Friday night (about 7:30/8) that was walkable from our hotel and could accommodate gluten-free (celiac) and ended up here and are so glad we did! The flavors were excellent! We ordered palak paneer and my kids tried the mango curry. The spices (not heat) and flavors were among the best we've had, and we eat out at Indian restaurants often. Even the mango lassi had a depth of spice and flavor to it that we haven't experienced anywhere else! Atmosphere wise, we were surprised to find we had the place to ourselves for most of our visit (on a Friday night!). It place was quiet with background music softly playing, and we could converse easily. We had great attention from the staff, and we were checked on just often enough: the service was excellent. Food and drinks came out quickly, and everything was hot and fresh. Highly recommend and we will be back next time we're in Portland!
