Maenam used to be my favourite spots pre-covid. There food was delicious, like no other, and they gave good portions sizes. Even pre-covid this place was not cheap, but the price you paid matched the quality of service and food, so it didn't matter. This time, such a disappointment. Me and a friend came by to celebrate my belated birthday dinner a few weeks ago, and it was such a let down, that I'm writing this review a few weeks later. Cost was $130.00 CAD for 1 Soup, 1 appetizer, 2 entrées and rice. The soup was good, the meatball appetizer definitely NOT WORTH IT. The entrées were TINY, FLAVORLESS, and DRY. Could have basically just been an appetizer. We ordered: Squid, and stir-fried beef. In addition, before they used to make the Pad-Thai gluten-free and now they don't, only offering the vegan version. Why would I pay $26 for Pad Thai that has no meat? Not worth the price for the amount of food and quality we received. Maenam, you've lost a loyal customer.

We recently (22 Nov 2024) visited the restaurant to celebrate a friend's birthday. The plan was to have a set menu for the whole group, however, one of our friends is vegetarian and most of the items in the set menu contained some type of meat/seafood. She asked if she could order a la carte, and it was a hard "No" from the server, our friend left upset and very disappointed and we were all confused. I feel Maenam could allow for some flexibility when these types of situations occurred, waiving the reservation fee does not fix the problem. There should always be flexibility, if you are flexible preparing food for someone with allergies/gluten free for example, you can also be flexible in people ordering a la carte, even, if the rest of the group do the set menu. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We went to Maenam Mar 2, 2024 to continue my husband's 50th birthday celebration. We were not disappointed, we almost didn't get a table because I had reserved online but they didn't have our reservation BUT they gave us a space at the bar. We had the set Chef's Menu Winter. You get the Snack and Relish, then we select share plates Hot and Sour Squid Soup which was amazing, spicy enough and super tasty. Then Crispy Mushroom Laab Salad to die for in my opinion, it had different types of mushrooms and everything was crispy. After we had Sable Fish Chichi Curry also delicious, small piece for two people but enough with all the other dishes added. The last dishes come with a bowl of rice to share. Then we had Pun nim Pad Pong Gari, you eat it like a wrap, small enough but filling and super flavourful. Finally the three desserts, one per person. The cocktails were also very good, the one in the photo is Blooming Blossom. One thing we noticed was that all dishes are a bit on the sweet side. We will go back to try the A la Carte Menu as the dishes are eye catching. Highly recommend that you give it a try, you won't be disappointed. It was pricy but well worth it. You will be satisfy.

Maenam is delicious & accommodating! Obviously expensive, but worth it for a special treat. The chef’s menu was generous and wholly delectable. Their Tom Kha soup is out of this world & one of the best soups I’ve ever had. We had a gluten free, vegan, & peanut allergy table and somehow they made a delicious meal for us. Thank you, Maenam!
