Dined at Mahah East and it was a feast not just for the tummy but for the soul! Service? Stellar, 5/5 - the staff knew their stuff like the back of their hand, guiding us through the menu with the ease of a GPS through traffic. Gluten-free? Dairy-free? No problemo! They’ve got options that’ll make you forget those words ever existed. And the food? Oh, the food! A solid 5/5, each bite a culinary sonnet. Value for money? 4/5 because perfection is pricey, but oh, so worth it. They were so attentive, my drink never saw the bottom of the glass. Mahah East, where the staff’s as refreshing as the beverages!

What a little neighbourhood gem this is ! Previously a smart, quality kebab place, Maha East does it’s CBD namesake proud, with this complete makeover. The interior has been refined and now has a real comfort level to it without sacrificing its relaxed appeal. Banquette seating along one wall in the rear section of the restaurant complements the upholstered dining chairs throughout. The audio is high quality and the soundtrack is laid-back baby boomer friendly. Food and service here are at a high level. The slow cooked lamb shoulder is a stand out as was the hummus. The breads - gluten and GF - were excellent. Try the calamari as well. Front of House service is led by Ross ( ex Maha CBD ) and he leads his team with aplomb as they go about their business in a cheerful and efficient manner. Of note for wine aficionados is that BYO is permitted on both Monday and Tuesday nights, at a cost of $20 corkage per bottle, which, given the good glassware - Plumm - and willingness to decant etc , makes this a great place to bring a good bottle. The south end of Chapel St has finally got a restaurant for those over 20 and this is a very welcome addition to dining in the ‘hood.
