Maharaja Indian Restaurant

I had a lovely meal here. Most of the items on the menu are marked with a “G” if they contain gluten but please be cautious, because when I said I was Coeliac, the sever proceeded to advise me everything was gluten free- except the breads, but that’s not the case. The samosas (vegetarian and lamb) both clearly contained gluten according to the menu. We had several starters, all of which were lovely and I followed this with plain rice and a vegetable Korma, which I thoroughly enjoyed, but didn’t risk a dessert as I wasn’t overly assured that the chocolate cake, for example, was okay, after the comment about everything being gluten free, except the breads, when that wasn’t the case. Additionally, it may have been unrelated and we can’t say with certainty that it was the cause but, my husband was poorly following his chicken biryani, which he said at the time, didn’t seem very hot. However, aside from this, we’d eaten the same food all day. Having said that, I was fine (and I’m Coeliac), I suffered no adverse after effects and thoroughly enjoyed my food. The restaurant was also great value for money.
