Mainsgill Farm Shop

Good farm shop. The restaurant was a disappointment, we were told that the burgers (without a bun) aren't gluten free. I'd expect a farm restaurant to be 100% beef and not have any added flour to bulk it out.

Good experience today, if you've never been it is lovely change from a service station and all the usual chain restaurants. Cafe inside has several seating areas, one is more chilly than others (big Margie part) and if you feel the cold and are asked to sit there, request somewhere else! There is a good selection of standard cafe foods, no it is certainly not cheap, but when compared to chain places much the same price range and likely a lot healthier. Wide selection of cakes and also gluten free savoury and sweet foods. Elsewhere in the shop it is like a garden centre with a huge deli, wide variety of craft gins and drinks, fresh veg and freshly butchered meats (e.g. half a lamb pack for £110!). There is a park with zip wire outside and several stalls with goats and other animals in. Well worth a visit if passing
