This was my first time visiting, and after a long day of class, I was seriously craving some fried chicken. I called ahead to confirm if their batter was gluten-free, and they let me know they use rice flour—big plus for those avoiding gluten.
I went with their Spicy Garlic Butter Box, which includes 7 pieces of fried chicken, 2 scoops of white rice topped with crispy fried onions, house-made pickled veggies, and a side of sweet chili sauce. They also offer other flavors like regular garlic butter, fish glazed, and salted egg yolk, as well as shrimp boxes. I added a side of their mama sauce and ranch for an extra $0.50 each. I also got their Truffle Parmesan Fries—which you can get with tater tots too.
Once the food came out, I dug in—and honestly, it did not disappoint. The chicken was super crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. The Spicy Garlic Butter was delicious and had just the right kick.
The rice, however, was a bit underwhelming. I get that it’s just white rice, but it was quite plain—maybe some seasoning or a touch of rice vinegar would’ve given it a little more flavor to match the boldness of the chicken. That said, the fried onions on top were a great addition for texture.
The mama sauce was tasty—I think it might be a mayo-based blend with something else, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. Still, it paired well with the chicken.
The Truffle Parmesan Fries were a standout—crispy, well-seasoned, and a generous portion for just $5. Easily enough for two people to share.
Staff was welcoming and super friendly when we walked in. The dining area was clean and well-maintained. It’s a small space, so it’s probably best for smaller groups—if you’ve got more than 5 people, you might not all fit at one table.
Overall, I’d definitely come back. Next time, I want to try their shrimp box. I also noticed they offer party trays to-go, which would be great for gatherings.
