I have celiac disease and went here for brunch because they have a gluten free menu. If you don't have any food allergies, this is a nice breakfast restaurant. Clean, nice tables, food quality seemed decent enough. However, the gluten free menu has only about 5-6 items listed most of those being gluten free French toast, waffles, pancakes with only 1 savory option if I remember correctly. Gluten free pancakes and waffles tend to taste like crap no matter what you do, so I'm usually looking for items that are naturally gluten free like meat, rice, potatoes, eggs, etc. I explicitly told my server that I had a severe allergy and I have celiac disease, he said "ok". I probably should have asked more questions, but when I'm ordering in front of a group of people, it gets awkward when trying to make sure I'm going to be safe eating there. Sometimes I just give up trying to make sure I'm going to be safe and leave it up to luck. I ordered eggs, hash browns, sausage and GF French toast. When my order arrived at the table the server had stacked another plate on top of mine and some of the powdered sugar from another plate of regular French toast had fallen onto my eggs and hash browns. When the server set my plate down I realized that his gloves were dirty (greasy) with pieces of food stuck to them. He left greasy fingerprints on the inside edges of my plate of food. This would probably be gross anywhere you go to eat, but for me it induced anxiety because I get severely ill if my food is cross-contaminated. For example I can't use the same butter knife or toaster as someone who has used those items for buttering or toasting real bread. In restaurants, it is difficult to avoid cross-contact with other food, I get that. But this restaurant made no attempt to keep my food separate or change their gloves when preparing or serving my food. Additionally, I was given regular French toast instead of gluten free French toast. I noticed right away and he grabbed the plate of French toast off the table and said he would be back with the GF version. It seems there is no system in place for labeling orders with allergies or the kitchen messed up big time. I'd like to make it clear that celiac disease is an autoimmune issue. My body thinks it's being attacked and creates antibodies when I accidentally consume gluten. This is not a tummy ache or a fad diet. I get extremely ill. I ate the food against my better judgement and I've been sick for two days now. The GF French toast was inedible in my opinion. I took 2 bites and couldn't do it. Not really altogether the restaurants fault, there aren't a lot of good options for gluten free bread and I assume they are just purchasing something premade. Overall, I would just ask that they either train their employees on how to handle celiac orders, or simply say that the restaurant is not safe for celiacs or people with severe gluten allergies because they don't follow protocols for minimizing cross- contact.

I love it here, I’ll drive all the way from Reno. They have the best gluten free options and are able to accommodate almost anything you want from the menu. The best mimosas, food, and coffee to go if needed! They do get fairly busy but I’m not going to reduce my rating for that reason, except to wait although they typically get us in much faster than the quoted wait.
