I have celiac disease- which means I cannot eat gluten due to the medical condition. This restaurant said they could accommodate me, and there are not many gluten free places in the south so we chose here. I hadn’t seen my family in 2 years. I would NOT recommend this place due to safety for me, and ridiculous price. Safety- They have a gluten free menu, but the server kept getting orders mixed up, and when the lobster came out it was breaded in something. She said it was gluten free and even talked to the chef. I took two bites. I’ve now been sick for almost a week. Again, first time I’ve seen my family in two weeks, not the trip I wanted with how I felt. And the two bites of lobster wasn’t even good. Service/experience- got multiple orders mixed up, forgot things, and just getting food to the table took over an hour. In addition, my gluten free lobster was $58- for lobster and asparagus. I would NOT go here again and I would NOT recommend celiac’s to dine here.

Wow! This place was recommended to us two separate times, by two completely different people. So we knew that we had to make a reservation right away, and we were not disappointed at all. First and foremost, the dress code is causal/nice. The building is filled with history and it was so special to see all of the wonderful celebrities who have frequented the place over the years. We were seated quickly even though we were a bit early for our reservation. Our server was Alex and he was wonderful! He was incredibly knowledgeable even with handling a wheat and dairy allergy. One of the owners was making his way around tables and greeting everyone- it was so refreshing to see this! Our entrees arrived quickly and were very flavorful. We ordered the bread pudding for dessert and it was delicious- they also had a gluten free dessert as well! After our meal, we greeted the owners and thanked them for such a wonderful meal and they were so hospitable, they even showed us their wine cellar. We highly recommend visiting Mary Mahoney's Old French House. Make sure to leave room for their bread pudding! Thank you also to our wonderful server Alex!
