Matteo's Osteria

Hands down some of the best Italian food I have ever had - and we found it in Maui! The service was incredible, including the knowledge of our server on what my husband could eat that was gluten free. It is hard to find gluten free bread and Italian food that is good, but all of the food we ate at Matteo's was great.

Wife and I went here for dinner on a Friday night after seeing the reviews about their gluten free menu (and I'm vegetarian). We made reservations which I would suggest. Food was delicious. My wife had the Bolognese which was one of the best she ever had and they converted the daily special gnocchi to vegetarian for me. It was quite good, and so was the small Caesar. I got. The wait staff was attentive and good, answering all our questions. The space is fairly cramped and on a Friday it's definitely on the noisy side inside. For dessert my wife was delighted that there were 3 gluten free desert options. I had the coconut cannoli which was an interesting twist.
