May’s Thai Kitchen

INCREDIBLE FOOD MADE FROM THE HEART May's Thai Kitchen is a gem in plain sight. They're tucked into the heart of Hamilton's Famer's Market and May and her team manage to make magic in their kitchen. My very FIRST time there May herself greeted me, spoke to me about my food preferences (and intolerances!), explained their recipes and ingredients to me, and even gave me little taste tests of the food to see if I'd like it. I felt not like a first time customer, but like a beloved guest. The food is beyond magic. Not only is there menu SO inclusive (vegan AND gluten free options!) but it's so obvious that these inclusions are not performative, but reflect deep compassion and consideration for others. For example, May's Jeow Bong (a constant staple in my fridge!!) is a vegan recipe that she developed in response to her child's choice to become vegan. That compassionate touch and deep heartfelt love of cooking is evident in every single bite. Delicious food, a lovely lady, you can't go wrong here!
