UPDATE:
Shortly after posting this review I was contacted by the management at this restaurant, they seemed very concerned about my terrible experience, got the head chef and manager on the phone. They told me they would love to have us back and try some ideas for dietary restrictions, blah blah blah. Not only did they not invite us back but never heard from them again. They obviously do not care about of terrible experience and have no interest in making things right. This place is terrible and will continue to be.
First, if you have food sensitivities, pick another place. This restaurant seemingly is utterly unaware of the fact that many people cannot eat gluten, or may be looking for vegetarian or dairy free options. I don’t know that I’ve ever been to such an expensive restaurant that seems oblivious to these things. There is no mention of any gluten free option on any menu. We had to work it out on our own, and it didn’t go well.
Before you go on, remember the restaurant was essentially empty on this Wednesday evening.
But let’s get down to the rest of the issues here. The waiter seemed lost, he wasn’t really paying attention when we were talking about our food order, which lead to a mistake. My four year old spilled her drink almost immediately while the waiter was standing there, he very kindly consoled her, and then walked away, no one came to sop up the mess. I tried but the napkins on the table were not absorbent, so they just kind of spread the mess. I brushed the ice off the table in to a cup and put the napkin in it, it was left there the entire meal. Multiple servers, bussers and a manager walked by while I cleaned this up, no one offered help.
My fried shrimp was over cooked, my son’s cocktails shrimp, scampi shrimp and lobster tail were over cooked. My wife got a simple grilled chicken with vegetables, the salt level was OUTRAGEOUS, literally inedible. She went home hungry.
It was my son’s birthday and he loves seafood, so we splurged on a fancy seafood meal for him, that’s the only reason we chose to grin and bear it, we wanted him to enjoy his night. At the end of the night I spent $200 with tip on sub par food and a sub par experience. I do not recommend this place and obviously would not come back. It makes me question if I will ever go to the Morton’s across the street since it’s owned by the same company.
