My partner and I recently visited the establishment for a romantic dinner. The cocktails and entrées were absolutely delicious, and the staff were warm, welcoming and very attentive . We don’t usually leave reviews, but we felt it was important to share some feedback in the hope that it leads to improvement. Unfortunately, our main meals really let the evening down. My partner ordered the $28 smash burger, which arrived cold with a patty that was burnt, dry, and completely lacking flavour — aside from the overpowering charred taste. The chips were also cold and unsalted. Sadly, it was the worst burger either of us has ever had, and we weren’t able to finish the meal. We understand gluten-free meals often come at a premium, but the quality didn’t reflect the price point. We also waited over 45 minutes for our food, despite the venue only having a few tables seated at the time. My schnitzel was underwhelming — a very small portion, less than a quarter of a chicken breast, served cold and completely unseasoned. We were really hoping for a memorable dinner, and the evening had such a promising start. We’re sharing this feedback in the hope that it’s taken constructively and that the consistency and quality of the main dishes is reviewed.

GLUTENED - NOT SAFE FOR CELIAC!!!! On Christmas eve of last year, myself and my family ate lunch at this location. I am a celiac, and my father has not had any alcohol for over 10 years. I ordered myself a "gluten free Two Bays Pale Ale" on tap. My father ordered himself a non-alcoholic beer. When our drinks were brought out, my father and I both had a sip of our beers and noticed they tasted a little funny. My fathers beer was a lot darker than mine in colour also. My father could taste alcohol and I could not taste any. Upon enquiry, the server stated that they were the correct beers and they did not make an error. I requested they be re-poured nonetheless. When the re-poured beers arrived, my beer was no a darker colour, and my Dad's was far lighter and no longer tasted of alcohol. The server had clearly given us the wrong beers, resulting in my Dad consuming alcohol for the first time in over a decade and myself to have consumed gluten..... The manager admitted that the server made a mistake and instructed us to email or call to sort out the problem. The server then approached our table and stated "I have been told to say sorry....". We ate our food, with a sour taste in our mouths and an impending doom of celiac symptoms lurking over me. I then attempted to email and call the restaurant on several occasions over the proceeding weeks. The restaurant did not reply to me e-mails or return my calls.

Amazing to have so many safe options as a coeliac! And a great beer. Non GF said it was the best steak he’d had. Staff were lovely-friendly, kind and helpful.
