It was all ok until I was served a gluten free slice of bread that was rock hard and very basic (Woolies/Coles brand bread). The waitress was apologetic but it still took at least another 10 minutes for some fresh toast to come out, by which point I had nearly finished my meal. We were also going to be charged $4 for the gluten free toast until my wife questioned whether it was right of them to charge after that negative experience. After hearing positive feedback from family and friends we expected a better experience.

For the second year at this time we have visited Meelup Farmhouse and it was even better. There were plenty of staff so wait time for service was minimal and the staff themselves were warm and friendly. The food was very good, and the setting is lovely. Book ahead via their website as it gets busy, especially at peak times like school holidays. They are coeliac aware, taking special care with the gluten free items and identifying them as suitable for coeliac when brought to the table. I highly recommend a visit here.
