Mi Chola

Mi Chola is now my favourite restaurant in South America after months of travel. An 8 plate degustation meal. 10 plates if you include the extra bits they bring. Delicious, interesting, beautifully presented and curated plates. Super friendly and knowledgeable service, they made it all gluten free for me with no fuss, too.

One of the best meals we've ever had, with all of the dishes seeking to put a modern spin (or just using really premium ingredients and preparation/presentation) on traditional Bolivian cuisine. In every case where we'd tried the root dish we were impressed and on at least a few occasions stopped eating to say wow. For Bs.100 we got three really fun snacks (the corn cake smoked in hay was a personal favourite), appetizer (I don't think it would be possible to do the traditional chicken quinoa soup better), two mains (trout and ribs, both excellent), and desert (grilled bread pudding, again exceptional). They also went out of their way to accommodate for one of our party being gluten free. Just be sure you budget 90-120 minutes to work through the courses, and take note that it's a cash only establishment.
