If you’re choosing Añejo over this spot, you’re missing out.
Food:
Very authentic Mexican food at times subtly adjusted for the American palate without becoming Tex-Mex food. I ordered the enchilada trio because I was curious about their selection. All done fantastically but if you’re lactose intolerant it might not be a viable option since they add diary to the sauces. I saw various vegetarian and gluten free options on the menu and everything looks very authentic (I am Mexican American).
Drinks:
I ordered a house margarita but substituted the silver tequila for 1800 añejo tequila which has more flavor. I was happy to see that their house marg is made fresh as opposed to premade. Prices are lower than other “Mexican” restaurants. Plus you can feel better about the fact that the restaurant is actually owned by Mexican folks.
Overall I’m a bit surprised that this place isn’t packed to the brim! Would highly recommend!!
PS the salsa is nice and warm. I appreciate they use tomatillos instead of canned tomatoes like other places.
