Middle Sister's Kitchen

We first came across Jamie and her phenomenal little kitchen about a year ago. More by chance did we enter her store since it was conveniently located near the Solara Resort we stayed at. Jamie was busy cooking up a storm and the delicious smells immediately had both my wife and I captivated. We learned to our great joy, that all food she cooks is celiac-safe gluten free. While we aren't celiacs, our daughter is and it can be incredibly difficult finding good food that is also celiac-safe. Jamie is a celiac herself and had been an excellent resource for us not only for her own cuisine, but also for places at our home in Edmonton. The food you get at Middle Sister's Kitchen is always freshly prepared and either in the refrigerator or in the freezer. Portions are almost always individually sized but sometimes can come in a 2-person size as well. You find everything from stews over soups over lasagna, pulled pork, to unreal delicious desserts. Some of the food she gets from a different location and that can contain gluten - but it is always packed sealed and Jamie will tell you at purchase. Middle Sister's Kitchen has become a staple for us every time we go to Canmore now. Even if we don't have our daughter with us and aren't dependent on GF food. Everything we get has always been to the most excellent standard and it is always fun having a little chat with Jamie and her staff about what they are cooking today. Biggest recommendation for anyone who has not gone there!

We discovered this hidden gem when we tried their gluten-free slices on sale at Trailhead Café in Lake Louise, and were then delighted to discover their kitchen was right near our apartment in Canmore. This isn’t a café, or even really a takeaway, but a kitchen from where you can buy meals to reheat back home, or various treats. And it’s all magnificent. Great food, great price, and just about all of it is gluten free – an absolute godsend if you’re celiac and away from home. No need to cook, or even shop at the supermarket – just drop in here, stock up and reheat.
