One of my favorite restaurants! They have Gluten Free Desert!

A Long-Time Customer's Disappointing and Dangerous Experience I've been a loyal customer of Mojave Cantina Clawson for years, but my recent visit was not only incredibly disappointing but also dangerously negligent. As someone with a severe, life-threatening gluten allergy, I always make it a point to be incredibly clear about my dietary restrictions, and I specifically asked if their fryer was dedicated solely to chips and ordered the Tex Mex tacos with corn shells. When my dish arrived, alongside my son's flour tortilla order, my "corn" shells looked suspiciously like flour. Given the severity of my allergy, I immediately asked our server to double-check with the kitchen, explicitly stating that I am "deathly allergic to gluten." She returned, assuring me that the kitchen confirmed they were corn. Trusting this information, I took a single bite. Within moments, my airway began to close, and I started vomiting – a terrifying and immediate reaction that confirmed it was, in fact, a flour tortilla, not corn. This level of dishonesty and carelessness from a restaurant is absolutely unacceptable, especially when it concerns a life-threatening allergy. The cook clearly lied to the server, putting my health and safety at extreme risk. I had to throw my entire meal away. This experience has completely shattered my trust in Mojave Cantina. I will not be returning, and I urge anyone with severe allergies to exercise extreme caution here. When a restaurant's negligence can lead to such a dangerous outcome, it's simply not worth the risk.
