Monique's Chip Stand

Very clean establishment with kind people. The dine-in area feels like a cozy local spot that is nicely lit by the numerous windows. The windows do also have individual shades at the table in case someone may not want the light coming in too bright during their dine-in experience. Both bathrooms are surprisingly spacious and well lit, while also being very clean and actually have hot water through the taps unlike most places that think it’s comfortable or proper hand hygiene practices to wash hands in ice cold water. Toilet paper and paper towel were also well stocked, it may not matter to some people but I am mindful of these things when I think about returning to a location to eat. The outdoor dining space is also very beautiful and not cramped together. I feel the layout allows a personal dining experience without feeling like conversations are shared with those surrounding you during your dining experience. Lovely people, I love the atmosphere, and the food is fantastic. The prices are as expected when going to a local business which I much rather support when I can, and quality makes all the difference. Strawberry milkshake was a hit between my spouse and I. We had the mushroom caps with ranch, fish burger, chicken Caesar wrap with the grilled chicken, a small fry, we did both get a canned drink from the fridge which was nicely chilled on a sunny day, and a strawberry milkshake each. Let me tell you, portions are very generous. Fries did not come pre salted and had the salt shakers at each table which I prefer so I can sprinkle them as I please while they are so nicely hot. the tables have salt, black pepper, a shaker with seasoning that reminds me of a Smokey all dressed potato chip taste which is really good, a ketchup squeeze bottle, and something amazing I’ve never seen before which was a small glass SPRAY BOTTLE for the vinegar so I didn’t have saturated, soggy spots or fries with no vinegar at all throughout the box. mushroom caps were beautifully golden and crispy. We enjoyed the ranch. I don’t know what the heck they put in their fish burger but that’s going to be a regular meal for us now. The fish had a crispy crust on the outside that wasn’t breaded to be overwhelming, oily or heavy feeling, the lettuce and tomatoes were frisbees, crisp and great, the tartar sauce did not look like a lot at first which we soon realized didn’t need to be, it was very flavourful and I believe made “in house” or at least it tasted that way, the bun was also so soft. The fish was perfectly cooked. The whole burger was thoroughly enjoyed. The chicken Caesar wrap was huge. Lettuce was crisp and actually still green, the bacon is a crumble bacon which wasn’t hard and avoided the irritation I get from stringy, greasy, undercooked strips of bacon used all too frequently everywhere, the cheese was mozzarella I believe and was shredded and not clumped together in my wrap, it was actually spread throughout which was nice. The proteins and cheese were a generous amount as well. The strawberry milkshakes were light enough to be refreshing which I didn’t think I could use to describe milkshakes of all things. Delicious. Overall, this experience has been fantastic, a 10/10 almost feels insultingly low. There’s only one thing I’d adjust personally which is a bit more Caesar dressing on the chicken Caesar wrap. My spouse says he would only change his fish burger order to get two of them, not one (lol). Compliments to the chef. Clean, bright, friendly, seats are spacious and maintained, different seating options for inside and outside… revolutionary vinegar dispensing is still blowing my mind, delicious food, generous, fresh. Great experience. We will be back and will be recommending Monique’s chip stand to family and friends. If you’re looking for somewhere to visit with good food, please stop here. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did! They have gluten free options and I believe I saw some vegetarian and vegan substitutes as well.

GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS AND THEY TASTE FANTASTIC!!! Sadly they’re closed on Monday Tuesday for their fall hours so now I cry in the parking lot, but it’s okay they’re so amazing I’ve already forgiven them
