Moonstone Beach Bar & Grill

We ate dinner here last night and we enjoyed it so much that we went back again tonight for dinner. Our receptionist at the Sand Pebbles Inn recommended it to us. When we arrived we almost left for another restaurant. The exterior looked very ordinary and the interior was dated. But the receptionist was courteous and the sun was setting, so we stayed for dinner. Our waitress, Juliet, was courteous and helpful. I asked her for guidance on wine and she asked me what I liked. She suggested Opolo Mountain Zinfandel which I never had before. It was delicious with excellent aroma. I had cod tacos.and a side order of pan seared asparagus. I was impressed that both were cooked perfectly, neither the cod nor the asparagus was overcooked as is the case in most restaurants. My wife also enjoyed her salad and clam chowder. I am celiac and require a gluten free diet. They were able to accommodate me but the choices were limited. The kitchen staff was very efficient and the food came out quite fast..

My friends and I had a blast here. We were a large group so there was a bit of a wait, but we were able to get a couple of bottles of wine and take them out to their outdoor waiting area and have a glass while we waited. The bartender was super friendly and helpful. Once we were seated all together, they split us into 2 waiters so service could be quicker, which was a great experience for us and probably made the waiters’ lives way easier. One waitress said she had celiac herself so she expertly helped navigate the menu for one of our group who’s allergic to gluten. Food was classic seafood, nothing life changing but the atmosphere and service made it that much better. Thanks for a great night!!
