Morgan's Bistro

We came to Harrison Hot Springs for our anniversary and wanted to have dinner at a higher end place and this was perfect! I had a delicious margarita to drink. I would consider myself a bit of a marg snob and this one was so good! We shared the duck liver pate as a starter, which was very delicious - they had gluten free crackers as well for me. The entree was truly divine. I had the beef short ribs and my partner had the lamb shank and what an incredible meal! Price was a bit higher, but you can understand why by the flavours and quality of the ingredients. Will come back for sure if in the area!

The dinner did not start off well. The paper menus were water warped and they, fortunately as it turned out, did not have Coors Lite (OK, yes, I like the taste and it is a mostly gluten-free beer). I ordered Capitan Morgan's spice rum. The server returned five minutes later to say that they did not have that either. I ordered the Kettle Valley Pinot Noir which was very good. I had two glasses (rare for me) and convinced my dining companion to try a glass. Instead of ordering a meal, we opted for a couple of "starters" We both had the excellent cioppino. I had the Caesar Salad and he the Meat Balls. All were very good. And a shout out to our Server, Carlene (lean on a car as she quipped). She was charming, funny and, ahem, easy on the eyes.
