We discovered this place on a recent trip to Kyoto. Finding vegan options in Japan can be challenging, in particular when it comes to cakes and desserts. Mushiyashinai has many vegetarian, gluten-free and vegan options including different types of cakes, mochi and other Japanese confectionery. Menu items are clearly labelled and the staff are very knowledgable about allergens and dietary preferences. Everything we tried was extremely delicious and served in a calm and pleasant atmosphere. The people working here are passionate about their craft and very friendly as well as hospitable. We even got to try freshly made sakura mochi. We will miss this little gem and can highly recommend it to everyone, non-vegans included.
