My Neighbours The Dumplings provided a great experience for a summer date night, but would be equally suitable for friends or a family meal - all of these groups appeared present.
The restauarant is bigger than it looks from the street, thanks to a heated garden area in the back, where we were seated. As a party of two, we shared a table with another couple, but a tall table divider between us and the other couple party meant our meal still felt intimate.
Service was quick and efficient. We were asked if we had visited before and then recommended a selection dishes, though this didn't account for the fact that we don't eat meat (and weren't asked before recommendations were made). By the looks of the menu, a gluten free person could get a good meal here.
The food was on the better side, though not the best dim sum either of us have had. My partner commented that their veggie dumplings were nice but nothing special. We both enjoyed the fried turnip cake and dessert spring rolls. I also enjoyed the peanut potstickers and all were washed down well with the Riesling. I personally wished the Vietnamese spring rolls had been summer rolls.
Besides wine, there were a range of spritis, cocktails, mocktails and soft drinks on offer.
I'm keen to give MNTD another try, particularly if the menu changes, which I believe it does occasionally.
