Nautical Bowls Royal Oak

Wasn't impressed. As per request from owner: Only given about 1/4 teaspoon of almond slices. Toppings skimpy. "Coconut crumbles" misleading on menu. It was basically just small chunks of solidified coconut fat. A crumble implies more of a gluten-free version of a crumble or crisp topping, as in an "apple crumble" or "crisp". I previously worked at a bar that served vegan soft serve that offered such. Had it been labelled as "coconut fat", which is what it was, I would not have selected such as a topping. Ice cream quality mediocre, which would have been acceptable if the toppings were more generous, of higher quality, and labelled more accurately. Have worked in many vegan kitchens. This particular format feels cheap by comparison(especially for the price point). Sadly, a pint of vegan ice cream from Meijers is of higher quality and more affordable. A vegan ice cream shop is a great idea, but without mindful and palatable execution, it falls short. Whoever selects the ingredients has an undeveloped palate.

I am obsessed with Nautical Bowls. As someone who eats entirely gluten free and is always trying to eat healthy. This place is my go-to. Amazing bowls I love the paddle bowl. Love that Nautical Bowls is an entirely gluten free space, so I never have to worry about cross contamination. Highly recommend!
