Naim is a middle eastern cafe located in a bustling area of Paddington. It has many vegan options. They provide a few menu options that can be gluten free - they came up on GF Brisbane on Instagram. I wasn't sure if they were coeliac safe but I don't think I reacted to the food. I just wish communication was better.
I sat inside and ordered a chai on almond milk (~$5.50) and the falafel wrap GF. I asked what was the halloumi alternative and the waiter went to check for me. While she was away, another staff came to check if I needed to order, which was nice but I explained that I was already being attended to.
I ordered the wrap and asked for it to be GF for a coeliac. The girl didn't read the order back to me. When I received it, it wasn't read out/described back to me so I felt anxious about eating it. I had the food with additional Zhug and it was quite spicy but delicious. The wrap did kind of fall apart all through the paper, I kinda wish it had been packaged a bit differently, there was sauce everywhere and they kinda skimped on the falafel frankly. My first few bites from the centre were just sauce and bread.
Together including the coffee, it was about $30ish. I enjoyed the food but I probably just would appreciate more communication about the order and safety. If something is toasted, is it toasted whilst wrapped? Or nah?
