Everytime I tried to come here, I couldn't. I didn't know you had to book a reservation at first, then I couldn't book a reservation ahead of time enough, then it happened. I thought, "maybe this time", and found the reservation site and there was an opening right when we wanted to be there on the same day (today!). We sat down, they served tea right away and then we had the gluten talk. I am still nervous about this being the new allergy that it is but the server handled it with grace and kindness. There were still many things that could be made gluten free. We got the aburi raft, substituted the unagi for saba and wow. I can see why Nori has been a long standing local favourite and why you need a reservation.

Nori has the most amazing sushi. We had a couple of basic rolls, salmon and avo/cucumber, salmon oshi, and wild salmon sashimi. Portions were very big, and everything was so fresh and delicious. Service was great, and the restaurant was very busy. All the servers were accommodating and attentive. They were able to accommodate my gluten allergy. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for awesome sushi in Nanaimo. I also had the spinach gomae, which was missed at first, but they served it quickly after I mentioned it. It was absolutely delicious. The best gomae I have had at any sushi place.

Staff were well-informed about celiac when I visited for lunch. The menu has some GF items noted but more can be made gluten-free - just ask your server. I enjoyed the oshi sushi and spicy salmon roll.
