Nama Omakase + Sushi Restaurant

A perplexing experience, especially for a birthday celebration. The setting is intimate and well-executed, but the execution falls far short of the price. Despite being mentioned multiple times, the birthday was simply forgotten. Even more disappointing was the lack of creativity in the kitchen. My wife has a gluten intolerance, so we expected some adjustments. Instead, the solution was subtraction. Sauces and other thickening agents were simply removed from our dishes. We paid full price ($400+) for a diminished version of the meal. Paying this price for such minimalist plates, devoid of their essence, and having to share a single, modest salmon steak as a main course is difficult to justify. We left with a profound sense of incompleteness.

Simply amazing. We ordered the omakase 5-course menu and it was out of this world. I called in advance to ask if they could accommodate gluten-free, they said they could, and then at the restaurant the waiter told me they couldn’t. When I pressed him on it, they said they could find a way and I’m glad that they did. Just a warning for others - allergies or intolerances might be tough to cater to. I was 100% satisfied with my meal though!
