Napolita Pizzeria & Wine Bar, Wilmette

To begin on a positive note, our waiter was attentive to our orders being that 2 out of 5 are Gluten Free-and I mean seriously gluten free. No contamination is critical. If a restaurant states Gluten Free, it is imperative that it is!!!! Our table ordered many appetizers, sides and main courses including GF and regular food. The service of our orders came in sporadically and the table was too small to accomodate all the dishes that were served at the same time. The best food served was the Polenta; the bread was ok; the potatoes were good; the Chicken Piccata lacked flavor and had no taste; the Veal Melanesse was over breaded, over cooked and over priced. The Children seemed to like their meals but did not finish-typical, OK.... Overall, I will not go back to this "Italian" restaurant. The food is not authentic Italian as advertised. The desserts we ordered were ok.

Gotta say we were disappointed with the gluten free pizza option. Not only was it terrible but it was also not really gluten free. For people with gluten sensitivity or celiac it’s absolutely essential to be honest about the ingredients. The next morning my stomach was witness to the fact that it was not gluten free. I hope they reformulate this offering.
